Avenged Sevenfold will be the fourth studio album by Avenged Sevenfold, released on October 30, 2007 by Warner Bros. Records. The album, originally slated with an October 16 release, was delayed by a couple weeks in order to provide additional time to complete bonus material and production with the record, such as making on the animated music video to the song "A Little Piece of Heaven". The album debuted at number 4 for the Billboard 200. On September 23, 2008, the album was certified Gold because of the RIAA. The album is released on vinyl. The band supported the album using a tour, beginning per day before the release from the album and ending last year.
Avenged Sevenfold may be the last full-length studio album produced from the band before The Rev's death which occurred on December 28, 2009, just 2 weeks before the group was to commence recording their follow-up album Nightmare. His vocals are recorded in all on the songs for the album.
Although critical reception on the album was mixed as compared to previous releases, Avenged Sevenfold the Kerrang! Award for Best Album in 2008. In addition, the album was contained in Kerrang's "666 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die". As of 2014, it's got sold over 960,161 copies from the United States and 152,123 copies from the United Kingdom.

Avenged Sevenfold revealed the track listing for your album on the YouTube profile on August 9, 2007, in addition to their text messaging service, A7X Mobile. The band also has posted a teaser on the recent YouTube blog featuring an excerpt of vocalist M. Shadows screaming within the studio.
On August 17, 2007, a clip was posted with approximately 2 minutes in their first track around the new album, "Critical Acclaim" for the band's YouTube. The single was later uploaded to use entirety on YouTube and released for the iTunes Store on August 28.
In the weeks leading up on the album's release, a few ten films, called "webisodes", were recorded featuring "Wolfie the Fox". The first webisode was published on August 24, 2007; a 3:41 clip which was posted for the band's YouTube channel. The clip is made pre-recorded phone message from "Wolfie the Fox" and some scenes with their process of making "Critical Acclaim". Each on the subsequent webisodes was similar in content. The clips featured a shorter mock-interview between M. Shadows and Wolfie the Fox, various band members throughout the making of varied tracks for Avenged Sevenfold, as well as other background videos. About eleven days prior to album's release, the Wolfie Trailer was posted on YouTube. In it, Wolfie sings "Critical Acclaim" and speaks about the MVI version on the new album. The webisodes can all be viewed about the band's Myspace and YouTube pages.
By September 9, 2007, news leaked from the completion of an music video with the song "Almost Easy". It was directed by P.R. Brown, famous for his collaborations with Mötley Crüe and Marilyn Manson, among a great many others. On September 12, 2007, the production date in the single "Almost Easy" was announced and was already released six days at a later date September 18 to get via digital download.
The month of October would have been a busy one for your upcoming album. On October 3, Kerrang! released articles in which M. Shadows and Synyster Gates were interviewed in regards to the new album. This day also saw the launch of a live show of "Almost Easy" on the Warped Tour 2007. Originally this rock band intended to release this footage if viewers watched a state music video for that track on YouTube 150,000 times. Though the goal fell short at 120,000 the group still released the footage. Another live video, featuring another track "Scream" performed in Liverpool, England was posted on YouTube on October 11. The song has also been heard after a commercial for your Scream Awards on Spike TV. M. Shadows can clearly be heard singing, "You know I cause you to be wanna scream," that's an excerpt on the chorus. "Scream" was performed live with the 2007 Spike TV Scream Awards on October 23. Also, LoveLine unquestionably radio premiere of "Afterlife" and "Almost Easy", which has been guest hosted by M. Shadows and The Rev. Three days before, the Keyclub revealed an animated music video for "A Little Piece of Heaven".
To promote their new album, Avenged Sevenfold started their US tour on October 29, headlining in Los Angeles, CA at The Wiltern. Their opening acts were Black Tide and Operator.
On October 30, 2007, Avenged Sevenfold was launched in stores worldwide.
Music style
The album is much more experimental than their other material. It also shows less characteristics of metal heard on his or her other albums mainly because it moves away from your metal characteristics they have got used before. It has been deemed as a hard rock album with aspects of symphonic rock. It also has some components from gothic rock and country music. It also is considered experimental music. The band caused brass and string sections on "A Little Piece of Heaven", an avant-garde metal song inspired by Broadway show tunes, by which horns and orchestral strings replaced this guitar rock band's lead and rhythm guitars.
